Founder and Director of the European Academy of Diplomacy and the Visegrad School of Political Studies in Warsaw, Poland
Since 2004 she has transformed a “start-up” institution into an international renowned diplomatic academy, with over 5000 Alumni coming from 40 countries. Throughout her career she has inspired and led change within a number of organizations, including the Community of Democracies and the Council of Europe.
In addition to her leadership and management experience Dr. Pisarska pursues a career in academia. She is an Assistant Professor at the Warsaw School of Economics, an Associate Scholar at the Center for European Policy Analysis in Washington D.C and a Visiting Professor at the Azerbaijan Diplomatic Academy in Baku. She has also served as adviser to the Foreign Affairs Committee of the Polish Parliament, to the Office of National Security at the Chancellery of the President of the Republic of Poland; and continues to work as regular foreign affairs broadcaster in Polish and international media.
Previously, Dr. Pisarska was a Fulbright Visiting Fellow at Harvard University (2007), a Visiting Scholar at Johns Hopkins University’s School of Advanced International Studies (2010) and at the University of Oslo (2012). She is also a graduate of the University of Łódź (Poland), Warsaw School of Economics (Poland) and College of Europe in Bruges (Belgium).
KATARZYNA WAKSMUNDZKADeputy Director
Deputy Director of the European Academy of Diplomacy. Since 2005 until 2011 she was in charge of the diplomatic and consular training of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs’ new hires at the Diplomatic Academy of the Polish Institute of International Affairs (PISM). She moved to Washington, DC, in 2011, where she worked at the Learning & Development Department at PwC LLC. She joined the EAD team in 2013, initially as the International Programs Coordinator, then the Head of the Visegrad School of Political Studies. She is graduate of the Jagiellonian University in Cracow, Poland. She received a scholarship of Greek State Scholarship Foundation (IKY, 2004 – 2005) and holds Greek fluency certificate of the National & Kapodistrian University of Athens, Greece and the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki, Greece. Holder of PRINCE2™ Practitioner certificate.
JOANNA JASIŃSKAHead of the VSPS
Joanna began her work at the European Academy of Diplomacy as an intern, assisting with the organization of the U.S.-Poland Youth Leadership Exchange program. Shortly after she became the coordinator of youth programs: Diplomatic Lessons and Youth School of Diplomacy, only to be given the responsibility of organizing EADs yearly program – the Academy of Young Diplomats. In 2015 she took over the coordination of international programs, including the International Forum on Diplomatic Training 2015. Currently she is responsible for the everyday running of the Visegrad School of Political Studies.
Joanna attended the Center for Europe at the University of Warsaw. She is currently studying International Relations, Negotiations in Diplomacy at Collegium Civitas in Warsaw.
JOANNA URBANEKOffice Manager
Joanna Urbanek is the graduate of the Institute of Applied Social Sciences at the Warsaw University specializing in NGOs. In the years 2010-2014 she was working as a charities administrator at the Saint Christopher Oncological Hospice Foundation. Afterwards, she has been employed at the Royal Bank of Scotland as the AML Analyst (UK area).
Since November 2015 Joanna Urbanek has been working as an Office Manager of the European Academy of Diplomacy, coordinating the proper functioning of the office and dealing with logistics issues.
Personally, she is a dog and rat lover. She is interested in photography, Process Work and cooking.
