The Visegrad School of Political Studies, along with the European Academy of Diplomacy and the Casimir Pułaski Foundation, stand with our friend Osman Kavala! In November, Osman Kavala has been unlawfully detained by the Turkish authorities.

Osman Kavala is a Turkish human rights activist, one of the important actors in Turkey’s developing civil society movement and the founder of various civil society organizations. He is dedicated to arts and culture as important tools for strengthening local and international collaborations. Together  with a team of like-minded individuals, Osman Kavala founded Anadolu Kültür, a cultural center open to everyone. Among others projects, Anadolu Kültür supported arts and culture programs of municipalities and augment the role of civil initiatives in determining urban politics. In addition,  they organized arts and culture workshops for prisoners, carried out projects that are geared towards children facing difficult life conditions, initiated connections and enabled cultural exchange throughout Turkey and with other European countries.
