Three Russians from Moscow, Perm and St. Petersburg attended the July Diplomatic Skills Masterclass thanks to the scholarships provided by the VSPS Meets Russia initiative. The program, organised by the European Academy of Diplomacy, is designed for mid-career professionals from the international business, public administration and third sector. The course builds on previously acquired soft skills and presents an expanded set of topics that are designed to further prepare participants for the challenges and rigors of diplomacy, international business and working in multinational organizations in the 21st century. The participants completed a full 5 days of intensive trainings: public speaking, negotiations, public diplomacy, personal branding, diplomatic protocol, etiquette, effective meetings, written communication, leadership and team management. The workshops were lead by trainers, experts and practitioners in their relevant fields, who put special emphasis on the practical side of the trainings – various exercises, simulations or mock speeches and presentations. The group, apart from Russians, consisted of participants from all over the world: Armenia, Germany, Poland, Pakistan, Uganda, UK, Ukraine and Venezuela. The different backgrounds, experience and nationalities of participants created a truly international and multicultural forum for establishing bonds, which will benefit the participants along their careers.
