The second session of the Visegrád School of Political Studies was organized by the Diplomatic Academy in the heart of Prague started on Wednesday, 27 May 2015, with focus on public speaking and political speeches. Under the supervision of JUDr. Cyril Svoboda, Director of the Diplomatic Academy, participants had a chance to hone their speech writing skills and later to practice their ability to speak publicly. The lecture also explored important speeches since the WWI focusing on the importance of the situation and captivation of the audience. In the evening, participants had a chance to visit the Parliament of the Czech Republic where they witnessed a parliamentary debate. On Thursday, 28 May 2015, MVDr. Milena Vicenová spoke about role that Visegrád can and should play in the EU and about the importance of regional cooperation in the European institutions. Ms Vicenová continued her lecture in the afternoon when she spoke about her experience from the SAPARD programme – the pre-accession agricultural fund of the EU. Her presentation aimed to improve the participants’ understanding of grant programmes, the application process and project management in general.
Third session will be hosted by Slovak Atlantic Commission on 1 – 3 July in Bratislava, Slovakia.
